Hi! Chester here and today we are going to talk about the best games for the computer. Old school and modern ones. We are also going to be talking about FPS games and RPG, which I will explain better what they are further on.
PC games are a very well-known modern industry, because “today” almost everyone has a computer and who doesn’t want to have fun on the PC? I do!
There are very types of games for the computer in the industry but the most well-known are:
- RPG which stands for role-playing games.
- FPS which stands for first person shooter.
- Arcade.
- Adventure games.
- Multiplayer games.
- Strategy.
- Puzzle.
- Sports
- games.
- And more (which I will be covering on another article).

First off, we are going to talk about the best, most well-known, old school PC Games which, for me, are the ones I play the most.
The best Old School PC Games
So old school PC games are the ones who got released some years/decades ago. For me these are the best games for the computer.
Why you ask? Because that’s what I spent my childhood and adolescence doing. Playing PC games in my free time. In my experience, once you get older, you still enjoy games but it’s not like when you were young.
My first game was not a PC game. Was console game and it was Super Mario Bros. I remember playing the game and I had so much fun. It was amazing! In that time the game wasn’t old school but now, like I am older, all the games I played that time are consider old school. And that’s the reason why I think old school games are the best PC games.
So without further ado, here are some old school games that I think they are the best games for the computer.
- Fable
One of my favorite RPGs. Yes, Fable is an RPG that talks about the story of a young boy living in Oakvale who has dreams of becoming a Hero. Something dramatic will happen in his life that will change it completely. And you are that boy. You control everything he does.
- Half-Life Saga
This is probably my favorite FPS game. It has such a nice story line and the graphics of Half Life 2 are amazing for 2004. Become Gordon Freeman and fight the Combine aliens that invade earth!
- Halo Combat Evolved
Another one of my favorite FPS games. This sci-fi game relates a story of a survival crew from earth fleeing from aliens in a ship in space. Once they are about to get to them, the crew sees something truly amazing.
- Lord Of The Rings The Battle For Middle Earth
This one is my favorite strategy game! Walk through one of the best trilogy movies in this game. You will even watch cut scenes of the movies , plus, this is one wonderful strategy game and you will have your heroes by your side like Gandalf, Frodo, Aragorn and a lot more. You will also be able to play against other players!
- F.E.A.R.
So, this FPS horror game it’s amazing too. The chills this game gave me when I played it… Fight an army of soldier clones, ghosts and a very hungry guy. You really should try this game.
- Armies of Exigo
Another great strategy game! Fight for one of the three nations. The Empire, the Beast, or the Fallen. You choose which one you want to play. This game contains an awesome campaign too, like BFME (battle for middle earth).
- Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
This one is a stealth game. You need to infiltrate your self in certain facilities without being noticed. I really liked it to play with a friend of mine. It has a wonderful multiplayer system.
The Best Modern Games For The Computer
I gotta be honest with you. I haven’t played many recent games but nonetheless I’m going to show the best games for the computer of recent years.
- Valley
I recently started playing this game and I gotta tell you: What a game! Nice story, nice music, nice graphics and a lot more. Explore the Valley and you will see how beautiful it is.
- CS GO (Counter-strike Global Offensive)
This awesome multiplayer first person shooter has a lot of action! Play with your friends or against them. And you can also play competitive games so you can rank up!
- Portal 2
This innovative Puzzle game is probably one of the best PC games out there. And it’s because of something amazing they created. It’s called portal gun. This game is part of the Half Life franchise.
- League of Legends
This MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) is probably one of the most games played in the entire world. Play with awesome champions like Garen, Nasus Darius and a lot more!
- Fortnite
Fortnite is a fantastic third person shooter game, where you can play against a lot of enemies. Land on an island and be the last survivor to win.
- Minecraft
This is by far my favorite survival game. I mean you can do so much in the game. In mineceraft you will have to craft, mine and fight a lot of things so you can survive, but you can also create a lot of structures.
Best FPS (First Person Shooter) Games for the Computer, Of All Time
So the best games for the computer of all time in the category of FPS are:
- Counter-strike
As I said above, CS is one of the most awesome FPS out there but not only CS GO. For me Cs 1.6 was even better than CS GO. You gotta try it.
- Half-Life
Who is G-man? Is Gordon Freeman gonna free the earth from the Combine alien invasion? So many unanswered questions… That is why+ I love this game series so much!
- Halo
This was my first FPS I played on the computer. It’s such a journey… Go, go Master chief!
- Call of Duty
This awesome game series relates a lot of modern (real life) wars as also world war II. Become who you are born to be and fight for your life!
- Prey (2006)
Prey is probably the best horror game I know. Begin the game with the story of Domasi a.k.a Tommy. Who seems to be tired for being “stuck” on his village, until something unreal happens.
Best RPG (Role-Playing Games ) and MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer OnlineRole-Playing Games) Of All Time
- Guild wars
Guild wars is a nice MMORPG. You play it with other players. Choose your race, your background and start a new journey. There are many things you can do in this game. Like leveling up, gaining skills, do quests, and even fight against other players ++++++ahead!
- World Of Warcaft
This game is similar to guild wars, you can do a lot here! But the graphics for an MMO are amazing in WOW. Thumbs up on this amazing game!
- Runescape
Up your skills to the maximum with this awesome MMORPG! Like mining, fishing, fighting and a lot more. With a nice story and music (which is the best)! And don’t forget the missions, which will lead you to certain places you wouldn’t imagine! This medieval game is improving day-by-day.
- Fable
Yeah! As I mention before this (one of a kind) RPG is an old school one but for me it’s one of the best! Explore many towns and you can even choose to be a good or a bad person! How cool is that?
- Skyrim
The story of this action RPG happens in skyrim, in the continent Tamriel. You are a prisoner there which you eventually end up escaping. But a lot of things will happen on your way, that will surprise you!
